We kick the ball down the road
An oppressor will never be safe from violence.
A claim for statehood based on one identity expression will never allow diversity to co-exist.
Bullies will never be happy unless they hold power.
Peace is not possible unless there is an embrace of equality, diversity, difference of expression.
Just as poverty is not possible when the prevailing mechanism of wealth accumulation relies on extraction, exploitation and colonisation.
But let us wring our hands and cry for calm. Let us call for diplomacy.
All the while, the underlying structures of violence remain. We kick the ball down the road.
