We might question what is real value?
Is it the ownership of stuff, assets, real estate?
Is it the power to dictate to others?
Is it fame? We have given fame an extraordinary value in recent times.
What about knowledge? The scientist working towards a cure for disease. Or the artist taking us to another place through their art?
Is it time with family? Or with your beloved? With your children? In nature?
Is it money? Which after all, has almost no intrinsic value other than being a symbol.
What about technology? Perhaps we might give technology a high value?
Is it those who seem to make money from money, without any contribution to society?
Is it the entrepreneur who provides jobs to thousands? And who may or may not treat their people with dignity.
Ultimately, if we cannot provide value that ensures an increase in health and well-being for all humans, without damage to our home planet and its creatures, then maybe we have placed value on the wrong things.
