Getting across the finish line

Getting across the finish line

It is that time of year. Complexity layered on complexity, layered on the unprecedented.

People are tired. Tired makes angry.

Taking those last few steps, the final big effort, seems like the biggest mountain.

One step at a time.

Better done with a smile and laughter if you can summon them.

If nothing else, be kind. Leave strong opinions in your private backpack. Do not bring them out when family and friends come together. Stuff them away and call instead on generosity, kindness and compassion.

Spend the next few days in gratitude. If gratitude is hard to find, dig deeper. Gratitude for being able to walk, and if you cannot walk, for being able to breathe.

If we want a kinder more compassionate, more considerate world, we hold the power to be the fire starter.
