Adventure in the ordinary

I write this on the road. It is 4:40 AM and the sun will rise in a few minutes. We are heading South in our van for a weekend away. Surfing, sleeping, reading, eating.

Simple things. So good. 

I love adventures. Going to new places. Finding new paths.

The unknown, new, risky, beckons me.

I contemplate adventures in the ordinary. Discovering new food combinations in the kitchen. Seeing something you look at one thousand times from a different perspective. Trying a different stroke to freestyle in the pool. Listening to a friend for something you have never listened to before. 

I am reminded of Helen Kellers quote. Life is a daring adventure or nothing. 

Happy days daring adventuring. I feel like a child again, and that is part of the point.
