Integrity in Business
Actually, in these times, integrity anywhere.
I miss it.
But oh, when I see it, I love it.
When a business owner does the right thing, even if it has a cost to the bottom line.
When the promise made is kept.
And the people in the business go above and beyond the requirements of the job to serve.
When what we say is done. How we act consistently matches our words.
When a business treats people like people and not an expense item on a spreadsheet.
When the leader can and will say, I made a mistake. It is on me. And then learn from that mistake so it is not repeated.
When money is not the holy grail, but a signifier of doing good and great work in service to the customer.
When there is a long-term plan and deep consideration of the consequences of actions taken today.
When people are accountable and responsible without prompting.
Integrity in business is rare. We, the customers, have become so disappointed by being seduced, manipulated, lied to, overcharged, under-serviced, treated with disrespect and sold shoddy products that we do not have the right to repair, that our business trust has tanked.
A Syntropic Enterprise is the counterfoil. At its heart, all trust, all respect, all care, not just for the now, but for the world with a future for Earth and all her creatures.
