Speaking from conscience
Now is the time.
Silence makes us complicit.
Speak for the good, the true and the beautiful. Not just to feather your nest, but rather to elevate all lives.
The political class, with rare exception, speak for polls, money and their sponsors.
In Australia, many of the independents speak for their electorate, voted in by the community they serve. In the US, you have a few exceptions to sponsor-created talking heads, Bernie and AOC.
Our business leaders speak for their profits. The monopolists and technofeudalists have thrown their hat into the ring of the bully, hoping for tax cuts and regulatory freedom to do whatever the hell they like. Only those small to medium businesses that serve their customers as their prime objective really care about decency.
The fourth estate has been monopolised and captured by the monopolist businesses. They, too, speak for profit.
This leaves us. The people. You and me.
It doesn’t take many of us to tip the scales.
The fork in the road is now. Stand and speak for all-human decency. Kindness. Compassion. Respect.
Speak from your conscience. Speak for a future you want your children to live in.
