Our fear of hierarchy
I get it. We have been dominated, dictated to, bossed around, made to conform, squeezed into tiny boxes that eliminate most of our glorious difference.
We daily watch the terrifying rise of the strongman authoritarian. And the twisted tech bros with their immature grab to become rulers of the world.
We are tired of Empire.
Sucked dry through exploitation.
Erased because we do not fit some image, or status.
We hate this type of hierarchy. Justifiably. It is cruel to most of the world.
So we seek consensus. Same same. Everyone has an opinion. All opinions matter.
We have a serious allergy to hierarchy.
Yet Nature is hierarchical, and we are Nature. We do not exist without atoms. Atoms exist without us.
Hierarchy is necessary for existence.
Hierarchy is necessary for elegant human coordination and collaboration. Someone, or a group of someones, needs to hold the shape of doing and acting. Someone needs to be the steward and to steward.
To imagine otherwise is foolish, akin to denying our existence.
How we do this, how we bring hierarchy into human coordination, is the question.
This is what we have mastered in Syntropic World. Hierarchy that creates ecologies of synergy, where everyone, including the stewards, is better for being a part of what we are doing, while also being able to be agentic and whole.
Hierarchy and consensus. Both, and.
