Toxic gossip

It works like this. Something happens. People often fabricate stories about what happened, without speaking to the people involved, asking questions, or verifying the evidence to support their claims.

The more drama, the more the gossip. 

Gossip is vicious and sick. It might feed some part of us that seeks righteousness or vindication.

I know this well. I know the feeling of smugness that comes with gossiping cruelty.

I also know the feeling of being on the receiving end of gossip. The false claims, lies, and ridicule. 

Stop doing it. Go to Source and seek to understand, or shut up. (I am saying this to myself as well.)

This, in distinction to those who speak their toxic spew out loud on the public record. 

Words are swords, punches or paint brushes. 

Choose to create beautiful art with our words. We can do this while calling out toxic gossip and hate speech. 

Justice can be both fierce and poetic.
