Under no illusion
My partner read my post from yesterday and said it was very harsh.
He has a point. Most people do not have the option to do anything but work in jobs that engulf their souls. Our Molochian system (https://syntropic.world/breaking-free-from-molochs-grip-charting-a-new-course-for-humanity/)is designed exactly to create worker bees always on the edge of precarity. It is because of the injustice of this system that I work as I do.
I missed the necessary level of context in my post. I was writing about people who are paid very well. People who do not have crushing debt or financial precarity. People who have been sold the story that success is determined by prestige, status and stuff. The story that says – give me your soul for 60 – 80 hours a week, I will pay you the type of wage that allows me to treat you badly, but also traps you. For this, you can take glamorous holidays, drive luxury cars and live in mansions.Â
All of us prostitute ourselves in some way. That includes me. We sell some part of ourselves that is sacred, for pennies. The question is, do we know we are doing this? Â Honesty and dignity lives in the knowing. The professional of prostitution is under no illusion of what they are doing.Â
