A few relational frames that matter
Every action has an effect. Do we consider the effect when we take the action? We are responsible for the effect as much as we are for the action. The majority of people and enterprises refuse to take responsibility.
People write their own story. When we are younger, we are unaware that we have inherited scripts from others – parents, influencers and now algorithms, that are not our real story. Part of adulting is determining what OUR story is, not others’.
Many people have an addiction to drama to fill that hole that no outside element or person can ever fill. Drama keeps us feeling alive, gives us something to do, and reinforces our status as a victim. People love being the victim because it gives them attention and sympathy, which is a bad code for love. If you feed the victim, it is endless. Drama can live in relational dynamics, health and money.
Most people are not clear about the core values – what I call our Pattern Integrity – that is the structural frame of our identity. When we know what this is, we make decisions based on this, even when we know that the cost to ourselves may be high. This is why someone will step in to break up an altercation, based on their fierce commitment to justice. They might do this at the cost of their life. Staying silent was not an option.
