The mirror
The mirror enables us to see ourselves reflected. It is a powerful tool often used for shallow purposes.
The art is in the looking.
We might look for our real beauty beyond the superficial.
We might look for ourselves lost.
We might look for the words we speak to others that we do not apply to our own lives. Like…
“Don’t tell me what to do. Let me tell you what to do.”
“You have no right to your feelings. I have a right to my feelings.”
“News is fake, yet I have the right to lie endlessly.”
Most humans have elements of hypocrisy to which we are blind.
The mirror is a powerful tool if we use it to see the stories we tell, and hold them in the light of their own reflection.
