A lesson in Synergy

The principle of Synergy – where we cannot determine the behaviour of the whole by an examination of the parts separately – means that if we want to solve a problem we must first know and understand the whole.

How many times have you been caught out making a judgement or assumption only to find out later that all the information was not in front of you? The jump to a conclusion was premature?

How many times have you been accused of something by someone missing the whole?

This is the discipline.

If we want to work with Web 3 – the application of blockchain and tokens and decentralised organisations – we must understand money, currency, economy, human coordination, systems dynamics.

If we want to end poverty, we need to know capitalism, financialisation, legal codes that protect property rights over human and land rights, the global economy, as a start.

Yep! Harder to do. But like most things, doing the hard work at the front end, going slowly, creates the easy path in the end as things speed up.
