Actions and consequences

The Principle of Precession is that to every action there is an effect, a consequence, at ninety degrees to the direction of the action.

We know this principle. Every time we drop a stone into a body of water, we get ripples at ninety degrees.

Our Earth is orbiting with the sun and moon at ninety degrees to the pull of gravity.

A honey bee gathering honey inadvertently collects pollen on its legs and wings at ninety degrees to the trajectory of its honey-seeking goal. The Precessional effect of the honey bee is life on Earth.

Add to this Principle another one. Unity is Plural, at minimum two. To up, down. In, out, right, wrong, good, bad. Polarity is essential for existence.

Rights and responsibilities. Complementary pairs. No rights, no responsibility. More rights, more responsibility. 

Our current world resists the pairing of the two. My rights and screw responsibilities. 

My actions and screw the consequences.

This is like a one-legged stool. It needs to be supported by other artificial sources, for its integrity—the ability for the stool to remain stable—is not possible. 

That is the world we live in now. Monopoly. Rights absent responsibility, actions without consequences.

Because this defies the working codes of Universe, it is not sustainable. Whatever is holding it in place is a house of cards, no substance, no integrity.

Integrity means to hold its shape.

Every act we take has a consequence. One small micro distraction on our phone while driving can result in tragedy for someone else. The size of the action is not always the determinant of the precessional effect. (Thank the honey bee for its small daily acts in giving us life.)

As the world lurches in the mire of leaders getting away with rampant corruption, genocide, apartheid, hacking the possibility of human dignity for the majority of their people, using the law to serve their wealth accumulation and power to bully…

There are two things to recognise. The system we live in —the one-legged stool —cannot be propped up forever. It will fail due to its own flawed design.

And integrity – the choices we, the people, make to act, behave and live in integrity, to hold our shape no matter the force of the bully and the corrupt, do matter.

The integrity account of Universe records the score. Not on our time frame. Maybe not in our lifetime. But registered.

Live integrity.

Acknowledge the consequences of our actions.

Take responsibility, and the more rights you have, the more responsibility you take.

When we do these things, we are honouring the working laws of Universe and in doing so building an architecture for the future well-being of all life.
