Friending rather than dating
Dating is loaded. Expectations. Assessments. Hopes and dreams.
Friending is different. Do I like this person as a friend? Their values. Their way of life. What they fight for? Cry for?
Do I want them as a friend?
With a friend, we can have coffee and walk away and get on with the day.
With a date, we judge. Measure. And when we walk away, the space is either full of our hopes and dreams, reasonable and unreasonable, or it is rejected.
Different context. Same coffee.
Try friending.
Great, enduring lovers and partnerships are founded in friendship.
