Morality
Pertaining to rules of right conduct.
If a child gets away with bad behaviour once, it says that bad behaviour is acceptable. They continue to push bad behaviour. Parents often learn this too late, when the ability to turn the behaviour back towards moral behaviour becomes harder. Hence, my enduring and persistent rants about Little Atrocities – the very first violation is the most dangerous one.
Morality is something taught by the context surrounding us. Or not.
If you are raised in a context where a group of people are considered worthless, morality is trumped by superiority.
When a tech lord gets away with lies the first time, it paves the way for anything goes. Lies and hate stirring become a daily, even hourly, practice. Yet we must take some responsibility for this, especially if we did not get loud in protest over that first egregious act.
When a world gets sucked into the abyss of immorality, staying on the moral high ground has a price. The scramble for big business to bend the knee is stunning to behold. But unsurprising. The substrate of their existence is at stake. Or so they believe.
To choose the moral ground is an act of incredible courage and commitment.
Those few people and enterprises who do choose morality are to be applauded, celebrated and supported.
Against a backdrop of increasing immorality, exceptional morality might become a ‘winning’ strategy.
This is the intention of Syntropic World. Even if it proves to be costly, we cannot live or act any other way.
