Serendipity

“faculty of making happy and unexpected discoveries” Serendipity has its Pattern Integrity in Arabic and Sanskrit for the island now known as Sri Lanka. The word was created by an English man, Horace Walpole, in 1754, referencing the Persian Fairy tale, The Three Princes of Serendip. There is a lineage from this Fairy tale to the evolution of the scientific method and the development of detective abilities.

Serendipity is a gorgeous journey of discovery by accidents and sagacity.

A little like life if we cultivate wisdom as part of our living.

The journey is convoluted. The road is not straight. The lessons are unexpected and can have us either fall to our knees in awe or heartbreak.

Do we thread the incidents and accidents with wisdom? Can we find the meaning hidden in the tragedy and comedy?

Do we love the journey, even the valleys of darkness that allow greater light?

To live and know serendipity is to see the fabulous and complex interconnections between.

It is to hold the space between, the relational field, as potent as the experience itself.

Don’t strive for serendipity. Let it find you.
