Slow down
We either choose to slow down or slow down chooses to do us.
On my usual Saturday morning run my calf muscle asked me to slow down to a walk. I could argue with it, however years of attending to my body as a runner has taught me some wisdom. The pain was not going to be run out.
Indeed the week has asked me to slow down.
It has been a week of completions – debts paid, broken relationships forgiven, and several years of hard dissolved in the ocean of forgiveness.
I have required much more sleep – time to allow my unconscious mind to unpack and release all of the work done.
Busy is a choice. Busy squeezes all the spaces out of real contemplation, real-time to look long and hard at what busy tries to disguise.
Contemplation prepares a person to know.
More than busy, more than empire building, the world needs wisdom that comes from slowing down enough to contemplate depths and spaces and the eternal.
