The Global War – or illusion of one – for business innovation and hegemony
As you are aware, I am in the process of getting The Beauty of Beginnings book published.
Like everything we attempt to do in the age of the internet, monopoly and big tech, nothing happens in isolation.
In a demonstration of Syntropy, I seek to create a pathway to publish that is not beholden to the 2025 gods of exploitation – Amazon and co. Or the gatekeepers that say you can or cannot publish.
I never suggested this might be easy. No frontier is easy.
But unless we seek the path of the frontier, unless we purposefully set out to break the status quo, what right do we have to complain about the status quo?
Against this backdrop of self-publishing, we have the political cries for Make America Great Again. And in my country, the cage rattling by the politicians, especially the neoliberals, of the threat of China. Of course, the Make America Great Again is a combination of making America a white supremacist nation and remaining the global bully, while also retaining the American exceptionalism and hegemony. China is the threat in everyone’s eyes.
I seriously doubt China is a threat militarily. They are historically not known for being aggressive, whereas the USA is the gold medalist aggressor. I know they are a threat in the domains of business, innovation, technology and health. Indeed, with the Trumpian closure of research budgets, China has been given an early Christmas bonus. If they do not already, they will lead the world.
Last week, I found myself up against an American self-publishing company. Their customer service was almost nonexistent. The promises they made on their website are outright lies. For two weeks, I went back and forth, everything stalled because of the company policy of replacing people with bots, and not actually giving a f$%#&ck about anything except being a monopoly that gets to be enshittified.

In desperation, I outreached to a publishing company in China. I spoke to a human, Nelson, who speaks excellent English. Within 6 hours, I was in the publishing process. Attention to detail, responsiveness, thoughtfulness, and human touch. This is against two weeks of shitty service and no progress.

China has already won the war. America is in lag recognising it. There is no great in bully.
