Beauty is a balm to a ravaged soul
My mind scans the horizon and dips into my body being, searching for what I can write about today. Sometimes, topics come easily, sometimes, they take their time to reveal themselves to me.
Today, I want to write about beauty. Love. Syntropy as the greater force. I want to speak to the dolphins and whales. I long to disappear in the joy of our Rose Crested Galahs as they chat with us on our balcony to give them food.
My desire is to kiss the gloriousness of Nature as she carries on, against the odds of everything humans throw at her. Not all her creatures will make it, which is a tragedy that will affect us all.
Beauty is a balm to a ravaged soul. She wraps our heartbreak into hope. She insists on being seen, her splendour not to be ignored.
Love – being love, standing in love, acting for love – is a force we humans barely know. How easily we forget love’s power. How easy is it to fall back into hardness.
Human existence on our home planet is tenuous.
Without ignoring the enormity of our task to do something towards a world with a future, there are days like this where we must step back and bathe in beauty.
