Real self-care isn’t costly or fancy
I have been in Taiwan for a week. I have been doing some work, as planned, but not nearly as much as I expected.
Rest and sleep have taken precedence. Afternoon naps, 9 hours at night. Surrendering to the need to sleep.
Sometimes you do not know how much accumulated exhaustion you have until you stop. I have caught a wave of a different nature, the wave of sleep. My soul and spirit are happy for the stopping.
This is a good thing. Clearly needed.
The days are as simple as possible. Sleep, eat, read, surf, walk.
Self-care isn’t costly or fancy. It is simple. Get enough sleep, take time out, eat more vegetables and closer to nature food than you think you need, feed your mind with goodness, laugh more than you think you need, have meaningful and rich conversations with yourself and your loved ones, and always be learning something new. Move your body every day. Be kind to yourself and others.
