Crossing the threshold from an idea to a business

Crossing the threshold from an idea to a business

There comes a time when an idea needs to transform into solid ground. As a serial entrepreneur, ideas are never scarce. But to hold them close in the form of an idea is to deliver a stillborn.

At some critical juncture, the idea needs form. It needs to be rooted in structure. This extends well beyond a business plan, which is still only an idea dressed in thoughtful clothing. There is an interior shift within the entrepreneur that needs to occur that says…this IS. This IS happening.

“This is” is the threshold. It is subtle but very significant. Ideas have no commitment.  Cross the threshold to form, and everything changes. A metaphorical child has been born, and it needs care, attention and love. Now everything is at stake.
