Intention and stewardship. Syntropic Partnering
Holding an intention is one of the most powerful acts of life.
An infant child or animal, using non-verbal intention, has an innate desire to walk.
The intention is. It emerges. There is no force.
How or when it happens is not important.
On the first attempt, the intention is usually not reached. Another attempt is made.
Until walking is natural.
Intention – means literally to stretch out. Our intentional mind stretches out to create a field that is potent with the intention.
All life is an intention.
In Syntropic World we teach the critical elements that create this field.
- Know your purpose, the reason why you make the choices you make and act as you do. Know the purpose of your work or enterprise. Know it with singular clarity.
- Understand the Source Idea that, when made manifest, will allow the purpose to be achieved. The idea that insists you act.
- Be crystal clear about the essential, innate qualities, values and particularities of the Source Idea. This is the Pattern Integrity of the idea. Non-negotiable.
These three ingredients provide the Vector of Power – which could also be called the Arrow of Intention, and when we have these three ingredients clear, we create a field of potency that acts like a strange attractor, drawing to it the synchronicities, people, events and resources needed to animate the idea.
We now have directionality and a field of intention.
This is often the easier bit to enact.
Now, it gets harder.
We need to steward our idea to life. To take it from the metaphysical to the physical.
The idea is not you. You are not it. You are its steward.
Just like a parent is not the child, and the child is not the parent. The role of parent is to steward the child to the best possible expression of their innate Pattern Integrity.
We do this by creating the context for flourishing. Not too soft, not too hard. Clear, clean boundaries, with built-in by-design consequences for boundary violation.
Love is Daring to Care enough about the expression of our child as they grow up to meet the potential inherent from birth. All life needs to know what NO means, and to know consequences.
A Source Idea is like a child. It needs to come into existence in its unique way, on its timeline, and in the form it desires.
Our role as stewards of the Source Idea is to attune to the idea, to pay attention to the idea and allow it to become as it needs, and not as we want.
When we impose our timeline and the structure and form we want the idea to take, we are expressing the same dominating impulse that a parent who longs for a football-playing child will impose on a child with innate musical abilities.
It is easy to become attached to the form we desire and not the form that is desired by the idea to become.
Another form of domination.
We push. And push. And push.
Nothing wrong with pushing – on occasion. But to push every day. Domination. Again.
Rigid, linear timelines on exception when there is a literal deadline, but as a daily practice, anti-life. Insisting that things happen as we want when we want. Domination.
A Steward Leader should rarely resort to the need to dominate. But if they need to dominate, they will. This line has been crossed. An enterprise that is structured on domination is anti-life.
Our addiction to domination is the generative function that has created almost all of the ills in our world. Colonisation, patriarchy, slavery, poverty, exploitation, extraction to extinction, climate breakdown. Dominate humans. Dominate the creatures. Dominate the Earth.
The child will walk when the child walks. Not when we want them to. To accept this is to bow to something greater than us that stewards life. The same innate intention that nudges a child to walk.
It is to know humility.
But we want our ideas and businesses to conform to a shape and form we impose upon them rather than partnering with the Pattern Integrity and expression innate to the idea itself.
When we impose, we are enacting domination.
When we suffer the frustration of things not working as we want it, on our timeline, in a particular form, we are attached to an expression of something that is probably not the expression that needs to be.
Intention is more powerful than attachment and domination. Intention is a field and a direction, like the wave and particle. It is both, depending on the context.
If we want a world that works together, partners with, enables life to express life, and gives each life agency as well as the frames for collaboration and community, we need to unhook from the unseen, undeclared patterns of domination that are pervasive in how we birth business, design institutions, and create family structures.
Being intentional is where we begin.
Creating our Vector of Power and Arrow of Intention keeps our intentional field alive.
Partnering with the idea we are stewarding is the ongoing process of bringing the metaphysical into form.
The entire Syntropic practice brings us towards a higher order for an eternally regenerative Universe.
Noticing our attachment to form and timelines will allow us to return to intention and stewarding.
This is how we become a great steward – a great parent, and a great business creator.
Intentional. Humble. Paying exquisite attention to that which, we have been gifted to steward.
