What can I do?
Is a great question.
In the asking exists the impulse to get over the self serving aspect of what is in it for me.
We might ask it of another in need. “What can I do?”
Or we might ask it as an existential question to address issues that seem beyond our capacity to change anything.
The asking invites a possibility that we have not yet become aware of.
Do not ask the question as a statement of despair. Ask the question trusting that there is an answer.
And there is an answer. It might be small acts of kindness. Or large commitments of service.
The answer will come. And it will bring with it an aliveness that tingles through your body.
This. I can do this. I will do this.
