Sun kiss on bare skin

It is one of those days.

The sense of summer heat to come. The ocean temperature the perfect foil to end a hard beach walk as the sun rises.

Sun kiss on bare skin.

A Pidgeon boldly seeking crumbs.

Bare feet and sand between the toes.

Alive, life, beauty.

Our Earth, living breathing.

On days like this we are reminded to treat her as our most precious partner in life. Without her we are naught. She is us and we are her.

How could we ever tear down her forests, pollute her arteries, toxify her lungs? Open her chest to extract her golden heart?

It is us we are polluting. Us we are violating.

I feel the pain of the open-cut mine, of the poisoned rivers.

On days like this, I am grateful for her magnanimous beauty. For the life she gives for me to live.
