The risk of taking a stand
It always comes at a cost. You might lose your job. Suffer endless ridicule. Be sidelined for years.
And years.
If you do not take a stand, you face the slow inner disintegration of the most precious asset you have. Your own self-regard.
I salute the stand-takers. Rosa Parks, Colin Kaepernick, Nelson Mandela, Gandhi, Rosie Batty, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortes and so many others. In their dignity they have taken a stand for us. Non-violent. Steadfast. Timely. Courageous.
